At Lakenheath Primary School we reconise the value in working closely with other schools to improve standards and share good practise. We have a number of partners who we work with.
Lakenheath Community Primary school is part of the Mildenhall SEND Hub, a group of local schools working together to support inclusion. This year, together with our parents, we created a set of FAQs about how we support the learning of all our children. This information can be accessed via the school website, using the ‘Schools Offer’ icon or following this link: http://sen.smpsac.org/
In September 2014 we were asked to join CASSA, an alliance of schools in Cambridgeshire and Suffolk who are working together to raise standards for all of our children. The alliance is based at the teaching school, Linton Village College. This alliance will allows for the opportunity for staff to work closely with other schools to improve their practise and access high quality professional development.
Since September 2013 we have been working with the Primary Advantage Federation in Hackney to develop and improve Maths Teaching and subject knowledge across the school. Two of our staff spent four days in Hackney Schools and have come back to work with our staff on improving Maths across the school. We are now starting to support other schools in Suffolk, whilst maintaining regular links with Hackney.
The Fiveways partnership consists of four local primary schools who meet on a regular basis to share ideas, provide experiences for pupils and to enable staff to work closely together.
Recent examples of Fiveways activities include shared PD days on raising standards in Maths, a joint Lesson Study for the the year 3 teachers in Maths and a University Challenge competition for year 6 children.
